Friday Frights! "Dancing with the Devil"

Updated: Feb 14, 2021

I love reading and studying the supernatural, and I really wanted to find a way to incorporate that into my makeup. So I was inspired by the likes of Bailey Sarian, Hailey Reese, Robert Welsh and Loey Lane to start telling spooky stories, myths etc. on my channel. I still wanted makeup to be at the heart of it so I decided do my makeup and tell the stories at the same time. I really enjoy watching videos like that, so I really wanted to create some of my own, sharing some stories that I really find interesting.

I decided to call the series "Friday Frights" since I will try and upload a new video for this every Friday. There are so many legends, folklore, myths etc. from around the world that I just can't wait to share on my channel. Some will be more well known while others not so much. I'm looking for whatever really catches my eye and makes me feel like it would be fun to share.

The story I shared this week was Dancing with the Devil or The Legend of Rose Latulippe it is from French Canadian folklore. There are apparently over 200 versions of this story. Not all about Rose, but all warning girls to be weary of dancing with that dark stranger at night. Since it almost Valentine's Day I thought this would be a fun one to share. Although it's not a traditional love story, it does involve the allure of a handsome stranger and who doesn't love that?

Along with telling Rose's tale, I decided to create a very Valentine's inspired eye look using Love Luxe Beauty's Something Gorgeous Palette and Terramoons Cosmic Chameloen in Terrasphere. It's a really bright pink, purple, red look that's perfect for this time of year.

Although it's bold, I totally think it's wearable. Maybe not for everyone but if you like color and felt bold this would be a fun eye look to show off.

If you are interested in hearing the Legend of Rose Latulippe and seeing how I created my vivid Valentine's eye look please watch the video below.
